Sámano February 21, 2010
This Sunday I went out for a vueltilla with the camera on a midday to recharge batteries for the rest of the week by La Llosa de Samano (Castro Urdiales). It was a strong wind and threatening rain, which did not expect much bird, but again in this world of birds, it is shown that they are there waiting for us where we least expect.
Just start walking and just 5 minutes from the car, locate sparrows detected in a fig tree and one a little different. I turn on the camera and bingo! Miller sparrow. I shot a few photos which I have saved the following:
Tree Sparrow - Passer montanus
is smaller than its relative, the house sparrow (Passer domesticus) with a length of 12.5 and 14 cm and a wingspan of 20 to 22 cm, compared to 14/15 major and 21 to 25.5 to length of house sparrow.
Tree Sparrow - Passer montanus
As your relative has list brown back and breast black gray. As noted significant differences brown cap (gray in common) and black spot on the white cheek. Also wears a white collar only interrupted in the neck.
Tree Sparrow - Passer montanus
enter in your diet as seeds, berries and fruits and small invertebrates, increasing the proportion of the latter during periods of breeding.
Tree Sparrow - Passer montanus
is a common bird and resident in Spain, ie not leave their breeding grounds to spend the winter.
Tree Sparrow - Passer montanus
Well, after an hour and a half paseillo not much to note, aside from the occasional Stonechat male and female, goldfinch, siskin, pipit common black crow and a couple dozen vultures enjoying the gale, I was coming and where he had parked the car, when suddenly passed by a fenced garden uncultivated and see something that catches my attention. That "sixth sense" that tells my wife Rachel have birdwatchers. I grabbed the camera, pull down and zoom all the way ...
Surprise!
Fieldfare - Turdus pilaris
A half-dozen bandito Fieldfare. Only seen on another occasion by the atlas of wintering birds and a lot more height in the Area Muliro Matienzo, Cantabria.
Unlike the previous species, this bird is wintering only in our country, arriving in late October for the winter and leaving it on the month of February to go to their breeding grounds in central and northern Europe and Russia.
Fieldfare - Turdus pilaris
thrush is a fairly large with a length between 22 and 27 cm and a wingspan of between 39 and 42 cm. It eats seeds, berries, fruits and invertebrates are looking for among the litter and lifting stones.
Fieldfare - Turdus pilaris
His head and blue-gray rump, back and wing back grayish brown, lower parts white, stained ocher in flanks and chest.
Fieldfare - Turdus pilaris
Nothing, I was enjoying as a child of four half hour late for lunch, but with some spectacular images on the retina and far less spectacular in the camera, but at least they serve so you can enjoy them like I did.
