HOLA AMIGOS, LES SALUDA Cesar Mendoza.
This last May I've been fascinated with a recent (and belated) discovery in South America: this is the band HONDURAS LIBREGRUPO Argentina. His latest offering album "The only position is the Opposition" is published by the Argentine avant-garde label Artigianale Azione ( http://www.azioneartigianale.com.ar/catalogo.htm # mnpsse ). Now the group is a quintet with the addition of a saxophonist, but until recently was a quartet of guitar, bass, drums and keyboard.
Before that, in 2006, when the group took a little over a year made, HONDURAS LIBREGRUPO released his debut album "Volume 1" in traditional format, distributed free to those attending the concerts. This is a strong repertoire, recovery of the traditions of space-rock, RIO and psychedelia to progressive krautrock. Cosmic atmospheric disturbances that dominate the album has a clear retro, but the force of the musicians is very modern (especially in those moments which are close to the standards of post-rock). 'Botox' and the last two issues, 'Second Half of Day' and 'Monochrome Flora', form which in my opinion are the absolute peak of "Volume 1".
Soon after, in late 2006, the group did a cover of the song 'Sea Song' by ROBERT WYATT with lyrics in our language - the title of this cover is 'Song of the Ocean'. Here we see an evolution registration LIBREGRUPO HONDURAS style, tending to more full and colorful sonorities. Both
debut CD are available as single for download from the link of the band: http://www.honduraslibregrupo.com.ar/discografia.html
Highly recommended!
