Citroen DS 23 Break de Norev
Citroen presented at the Paris Salon of 1959, the ID 19 Break, a wagon version of the popular single brother or DS 19 'Jaws'. Normally, the body styles of any car family sacrificed style and design for a better use of interior space and comfort was to reward its occupants and to increase its capacity. In the case of the DS, perhaps one of the most groundbreaking automotive designs of all time, this sacrifice was well illustrated and appearance of the DS-ID Break was much more conventional than the sedans. Citroen
offered four variants of the DS-ID Break. The first of them was named Comfort, who had a fixed rear seat and two small folding in the trunk. The following is called Luxe, and differed from the Comfort in the rear seat could be folded. Then there was the Ambulance, whose rear seat could be folded into 1 / 3, 2 / 3 and 3 / 3, according to the needs of the load. Finally there is the Commerciale, rear seat which could almost hide in the floor of the car to use full back for the transportation of goods. Besides
private and commercial use, the DS Break were used as ambulances, hearses or mobile units for radio and TV stations, and cars were pooled a large interior space, good visibility and performance. All versions of the DS, 19, 20, 21 and 23, had their version of the Anglo market familiar.En Break was called the Safari. Norev
offers this thumbnail for a DS 23 Break, or one of the latest versions of this car, easily distinguishable by their headlights fairings. Despite being a store model as popularly said collectors to distinguish Norev sold in the collections of the kiosk, "pata negra" I do not find a thumbnail of the first order, at least not at the level of Citroen 15 / 6 that I presented at the time. The cast is good in its proportions, something to be welcomed in a car as unique as the DS. The choice of colors is very successful and are well resolved the headlights, door handles or rims with hubcaps typical. The most penalized are the scorecard without decals or front mirrors, too big. In short, it still remains a good thumbnail does not seem to be at the height of his brother saloon which is really a great miniature.
